So I decided today to make my first attempt at making a veil. Turned out ok, despite my awkwardness in my first attempt. I did screw up a little, which I can fix if I need to…you can't really tell in the pictures but the blusher is on the wrong side. I know, right? Sometimes I'm such an idiot. I am glad that it happened on my prototype, because I will never again forget to make sure its on the correctly. So I started on making veil #2 today as well. This one will have a hand sewn bead edge. After 1/2 hour and 1/21 of the way, I really started wondering if I can actually offer this option for a fair price. Is going to take me like 10+ hours to hand sew all the bead trim on…thats a lot of sewing. Especially for someone with the starts of arthritis in her hands. Don't know. will have to finish and see if I get faster at it. |

So I did start on the beaded finish veil today. I am making a fingertip length veil with silver beading…incidentally I have already made a crown to go with…I got one tier done and it took me 5 hours sewing the bead string on by hand. I believe it will take about 3 1/5 hours to do the blusher tier. That is after I get some more white thread…I ran out. Lol! I think I may run a sewing machine test as well…but I don't think it will have the same look as the hand sewing. Not to mention, even though the sewing machine may be much faster, I suspect is going to be a bigger pain than it is worth. We'll see though.
